What is CPR C in first aid?
CPR Level C is the community (non-professional) course that covers adults, children, and infants, plus automated external defibrillator (AED) use and choking response. In Mississauga classes you’ll practice compressions, rescue breaths, and how to switch quickly to an AED.
What does Level C mean?
“Level C” means you’re trained to help all ages. It expands beyond adult-only skills, so you learn the small but important differences for children and infants while keeping the same simple approach—check, call, care.
Is CPR Level A or C better?
Pick what your school or workplace requires. Level A focuses on adults only. Level C includes adults, children, and infants. Because Level C covers more scenarios, many learners in Mississauga choose it for broader confidence.
What are the steps in CPR Level C?
- Check the scene for safety and put on barriers if available.
- Check the person for responsiveness and normal breathing.
- Call 9-1-1 (or have someone else call) and send for an AED.
- Start chest compressions at 100–120/min. Push hard and fast in the center of the chest.
- Open the airway and give 2 rescue breaths. Allow the chest to rise.
- Continue cycles of 30 compressions and 2 breaths.
- When the AED arrives, power it on and follow the voice prompts immediately.
Hands-on practice makes this feel natural. A certified instructor will coach your depth, rate, and hand placement for each age group.
