How long does the Marine First Aid blended course take?
The blended course combines self-paced online theory — typically 4–6 hours — with one full in-person skills day at our Mississauga location. You can start the online modules as soon as you register and complete them on your own schedule before your class date.
Is this course WSIB approved and Red Cross certified?
Yes. AFAGT is an authorized Canadian Red Cross training provider. The Marine First Aid course satisfies WSIB workplace compliance requirements in Ontario and is recognized by Transport Canada for commercial vessel operators.
Which CPR level is included in Marine First Aid?
The course includes CPR Level C with AED. CPR-C covers adults, children, and infants, making it the most comprehensive level of basic CPR training recognized in Canada.
How long is the Marine First Aid certification valid?
Your Canadian Red Cross Marine First Aid & CPR/AED certification is valid for three years. After that, you can take a recertification course — usually shorter than the full course — to renew your credentials.

What do I need to bring to the in-person skills day?
Wear comfortable clothes suitable for kneeling and floor work. Bring a valid photo ID, proof of online module completion, and any personal medications you may need. All equipment — manikins, AED trainers, bandages, and splints — is provided by AFAGT.
Can my whole crew or team train together?
