Frequently Asked Questions

CPR / AED St. Catharines — FAQ

Everything you need to know before you register. Don't see your question? Contact us or check our full FAQ page.

What's the difference between CPR Level A and CPR Level C? +

CPR Level A covers adults only, while CPR Level C — our most popular option — covers adults, children, and infants. Level C includes AED training and is required by most Ontario workplaces, schools, and healthcare programs. If you're unsure which to take, Level C is the right choice for broader confidence and compliance.

Is this course WSIB approved and Red Cross certified? +

Yes. AFAGT is an authorized Canadian Red Cross training provider. Our CPR / AED courses satisfy WSIB and O.Reg 1101 First Aid Regulation workplace compliance requirements in Ontario. Certificates are accepted by employers across Ontario and Canada.

How long does the blended CPR / AED course take? +

The blended format combines self-paced online theory — typically completed at home in a few hours — with one focused in-person skills day at our Thorold training centre. You can access your online modules immediately after registering and complete them on your own schedule before the class date.

How long is the CPR / AED certification valid? +

Your Canadian Red Cross CPR / AED certificate is valid for three years. After expiry, you can take a recertification course to renew your credentials quickly — you must hold a valid, non-expired Red Cross certificate to recertify.

Where is your St. Catharines training location? +

We train at 70 St David St E, Thorold, ON L2V 4V4. The facility is centrally located to serve all of St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, Welland, Fonthill, Grimsby, and the greater Niagara Region, with nearby parking and transit access.

Do I receive my certificate the same day? +

Yes. A temporary Red Cross certificate is issued to you on the day you complete your in-person skills session. Your official digital certificate is then emailed within 2–4 business days and is valid for 3 years.

What do I need to bring to the in-person skills day? +

Wear comfortable clothes suitable for kneeling and floor work. Bring valid photo ID and proof of online module completion. All equipment — CPR manikins, AED trainers, and protective barriers — is provided by AFAGT at no extra cost.

Can my whole team or company train together? +

Absolutely. We offer group and on-site training for businesses, daycares, schools, construction companies, and community organizations anywhere in St. Catharines, Thorold, Niagara Falls, Welland, Fonthill, Grimsby, and surrounding Niagara communities. Contact us for a custom group quote.
