Frequently Asked Questions
What is the blended format and how does it work?
The blended format splits your training into two parts: first, you complete the full theory portion through self-paced online modules on the Canadian Red Cross portal — at home, any time. Then you book one in-person skills day at one of our three locations, where a certified instructor guides you through hands-on CPR, AED, and first aid practice and assessment.
Is the blended course WSIB approved and Red Cross certified?
Yes — all our blended courses are Canadian Red Cross certified and fully approved under Ontario's WSIB and O.Reg 1101 First Aid Regulation. Certificates are accepted by employers across Ontario as valid workplace first aid certification.
How long does the online portion take to complete?
The online theory is self-paced, so it depends on the course level. Emergency First Aid theory takes approximately 3–4 hours; Standard First Aid theory takes approximately 6–8 hours. You can complete it in one sitting or spread it across multiple sessions — no deadline pressure.
Do I get my certificate the same day as my in-class session?
Yes. A temporary Red Cross certificate is issued to you the same day you complete your in-class skills session. Your official digital certificate is emailed within 2–4 business days and is valid for 3 years.
Which location should I choose?
Choose whichever is most convenient — all three locations offer the identical WSIB-approved, Red Cross certified blended course:
- Mississauga — best for GTA, Peel Region, Brampton, Oakville, Etobicoke
- Hamilton — best for Hamilton, Burlington, Stoney Creek, and surrounding areas
- St. Catharines / Thorold — best for Niagara Region, Niagara Falls, Welland, Brock University
Can my company book group or on-site blended training?
Yes. We offer mobile on-site group training for companies, schools, daycares, and organizations across the GTHA and Niagara Region. Call +1 (289) 890-2898 or email info@fagt.ca for custom scheduling and group pricing.
