What age is the Babysitting Course for? +

The Canadian Red Cross Babysitting Course is designed for youth ages 11 to 15. Participants must be at least 11 years old on the day of the course. This age range reflects the Canadian Red Cross program requirements.

Is this a Canadian Red Cross certified course? +

Yes. AFAGT is an authorized Canadian Red Cross training provider. Upon successful completion, participants receive an official Red Cross Babysitter certificate that is nationally recognized and accepted by families across Canada.

How long is the Babysitting Course? +

The course runs as a full in-person day session. Students engage in interactive lessons, hands-on practice, and scenario-based activities throughout the day. The digital certificate is issued the same day upon completion.

Does the course include First Aid and CPR? +

Yes. The course includes basic First Aid and CPR skills specifically for infants and children. Students practice choking response, wound care, and infant CPR — the exact skills they'll need on a real babysitting job.

What does my child need to bring? +

Students should wear comfortable clothes suitable for floor-based activities. Bring a snack and lunch. All training equipment — manikins, bandages, and supplies — is provided by AFAGT. A parent or guardian must drop off and pick up participants under 14.

When is the certificate issued? +

Your child's Canadian Red Cross digital certificate is issued on the same day as the course upon successful completion. They can share it digitally with families right away. A physical card may be mailed shortly after.

Can we book a private group session? +

Absolutely. We offer private group sessions for schools, summer camps, community organizations, and friend groups. We can come to your location in Hamilton, Stoney Creek, Ancaster, or surrounding areas. Contact us for a custom group quote.
